In Vedic Astrology, there is remedies to boost the benefic planets in a birth chart. One way is by wearing a Kavach. To learn more about this mystical amulet click here

Although each planet rules two signs, except the Sun and the Moon who only rule one sign each, there is one main sign that is more significant to the planet. This sign is the main home of the planet and becomes more active and predominant then the other sign that the planets rule. This main home is called the Mooltrikona sign and from here on we will always identify the significant sign that the planet rules as the Mooltrikona.

One of the main features of the Systems Approach is knowing the planets, the ruler ship of signs and then knowing the Mooltrikona sign. It cannot be emphasized enough how important it is to know this feature in beginning the analysis of an individual's chart when determining the strengths and weaknesses of the planets as well as determining which planet brings Malefic energy to the chart.
Here are the planets and their signs:

MARS:
Rules Aries and Scorpio as ARIES is the MOOLTRIKONA sign
VENUS: Rules Taurus and Libra as LIBRA is the MOOLTRIKONA sign
MERCURY: Rules Gemini and Virgo as VIRGO is the MOOLTRIKONA sign
MOON: Rules Cancer only and CANCER is the MOOLTRIKONA sign
SUN: Rules Leo only and LEO is the MOOLTRIKONA sign
JUPITER: Rules Sagittarius and Pisces and SAGITTARIUS is the MOOLTRIKONA sign
SATURN: Rules Capricorn and Aquarius and AQUARIUS is the MOOLTRIKONA sign

PLANETS THAT SIGNIFY HOUSES
There are certain houses that each planet excels in, apart from the houses of the signs that they rule.

SUN: Signifies additional strength in houses 1, 9, and 10.
MOON: Signifies additional strength in House 4
MARS: Signifies additional strength in Houses 3 and 10
MERCURY: Signifies additional strength in Houses 6 and 10
VENUS: Signifies additional strength in Houses 4, 7, and 12
JUPITER: Signifies additional strength in Houses 2, 5, 9, and 11
SATURN: Signifies additional strength in House 8 (Longevity)

PLANETS IN EXALTATION AND IN DEBILITATION
The planets have extra strength and extra weakness in certain signs aside from the signs that they rule. These are called planets in EXALTATION and planets in DEBILITATION. These signs are not the natural homes of the planets as above and must be memorized.

PLANET EXALTED DEBILITATED
MARS: CAPRICORN CANCER
VENUS: PISCES VIRGO
MERCURY: TAURUS PISCES
MOON: TAURUS SCORPIO
SUN: LEO LIBRA
JUPITER: CANCER CAPRICORN
SATURN: LIBRA ARIES
RAHU: TAURUS SCORPIO
KETU: SCORPIO TAURUS

In Vedic Astrology, we do no use the outer planets Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. There are many reasons given as one being that these planets have only recently been discovered with Pluto being found in the solar system as late as the 1940's. The Vedic theory is that there is not enough transitory information as of yet to include the presence of Pluto, Neptune and Uranus, as Pluto has not even
transited through the twelve houses and signs since being discovered.

The other theory which is by far the most important is that by adding the additional planets into the planetary system of vedic astrology would disrupt the basic philosophy of the vedic system which has a mystical harmonic connection with the nine inner planets that includes Rahu and Ketu. The disruption would include sign rulerships as well as difficulties in assigning the Mooltrikona houses to planets as well as the disruption with the numerous Harmonic charts. The sequence would be broken with the addition of the outer planets.

It is this Astrologers view though that consideration must be given to the outer planets Uranus, Neptune and Pluto due to the transit affects I have seen over the years. Mostly I consider the aspects of the conjunction, square and opposition as I have seen the damage or disruption these planets have caused time after time to individuals during these transits. Vedic Astrologers can often enough give another analogy that is seen in the vedic chart which can make sense. I still feel the energy and influence of Uranus, Neptune and Pluto has to be looked at and considered to some degree if even as a casual observer.
